Using Mora

Mora no longer counts my steps

Mora needs two permissions. In the iPhone Settings, open Privacy & Security, then Health, Mora: turn on Steps, Walking + Running Distance and Active Energy. Still in Privacy & Security, open Motion & Fitness and turn on Mora.

My steps are not the same as in Health

During the day, Mora shows the iPhone’s steps live. The Health app then adds those from your Apple Watch, without counting them twice, and Mora lines up with it. A small gap during the day is normal.

I am not getting reminders

Check in the iPhone Settings, Notifications, Mora, that notifications are allowed. Reminder times are set in Mora’s Profile, My reminders. A Focus mode can also hold them back.

Adding a widget

On the Home Screen, touch and hold an empty area, tap Edit then Add Widget, and search for Mora.

I am changing iPhones

Sign your new iPhone into the same iCloud account and turn on Health syncing. Mora finds your goals in iCloud and your steps in Health, then rebuilds your streaks.

Subscription

My subscription

To cancel or change plans: iPhone Settings, your name, Subscriptions. After reinstalling, tap “Restore” on the subscription screen, or “Restore my purchases” in the Profile. Refund requests go to Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. The details are in the terms of use.

Your data

What data does Mora read from Health?

Three kinds, read only: your step count, your walking distance and your active energy burned. Mora never writes anything to Health. The iPhone’s motion sensor also gives it today’s steps live, and your cadence is worked out from your steps. Everything is processed on your iPhone, with no account, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising. The details are in the privacy policy.

How do I turn off access to Health or Motion?

For Health: iPhone Settings, Health, Data Access & Devices, Mora, then turn off the data you choose. For motion: Settings, Privacy & Security, Motion & Fitness, Mora. Without these two permissions, Mora can no longer count your steps.

Erasing my data

Deleting the app erases everything Mora keeps on your iPhone. To stop the anonymous statistics without deleting the app: Profile, Advanced settings, “Anonymous usage data”. The rest is described in the privacy policy.
