In short
- Mora asks for no account and no email address, and your health data never leaves your iPhone.
- Mora reads your steps, your distance and your active energy burned from Health, without ever writing anything to it. Your walking cadence is worked out from those steps. Everything is processed on your iPhone; nothing is sold or shared for advertising.
- Only four things leave it: anonymous usage statistics, which you can turn off, your purchase history, the goals you set yourself, kept in your own iCloud, and your “Improve Mora” message if you write one.
01Who is responsible
Nidouye, SASU, 9 rue des Colonnes, 75002 Paris, France, publishes Mora and is the controller of your data. For any question: contact@moramora.app.
02What stays on your iPhone
- Your step count, your walking distance and your active energy burned, read from the Health app. Mora reads only these three and never writes anything to Health.
- Today’s steps, read from the iPhone’s motion sensor (the Motion & Fitness permission).
- The history of your days: steps, distance, active energy, walking time, the day’s goal.
- What you choose to tell Mora when you first open it: first name, gender, motivation, goal, tone of the messages.
- Your reminder settings. Reminders are scheduled on your phone, with no server.
All of this stays on the device. Nothing is sent to us, not even an average. The widgets read this data on the same iPhone. Mora never asks for your location. This data is processed on your iPhone, with no account, and is never sold or shared for advertising. To turn off access to Health: iPhone Settings, Health, Data Access & Devices, Mora. For motion: Settings, Privacy & Security, Motion & Fitness.
03What leaves your iPhone
- Your goals, each time you change one (a target number of steps and its date). To your iCloud account, at Apple, so you find your streaks again on a new iPhone. Legal basis: providing the service.
- Anonymous usage statistics. To PostHog, on servers in the European Union, to understand where the app helps and where it gets in the way. Legal basis: legitimate interest, which you can object to.
- Your “Improve Mora” message, if you write one. To PostHog, in the European Union, so we can read your feedback. Legal basis: your sending it.
- Your purchase history. To RevenueCat, in the United States, and Apple, to verify and restore your subscription. Legal basis: performing the contract.
Mora sends no step, distance or energy measurement to iCloud. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud, that backup, managed by Apple, also contains the app’s data, which is how a restored iPhone gets everything back. Payment goes through Apple: we never see your card or your identity.
04Usage statistics, in detail
What is sent: the onboarding steps you go through, your answers to permission requests (granted or declined), how you heard about Mora if you say so, the fact that you reached your goal, your reminder settings and their time, the reminders you open, the tone you chose, the widgets you add, the subscription screens you see, the purchases you start and complete, and the app being installed, updated, opened and sent to the background. Each event carries your iPhone model, the iOS and Mora versions, where the app came from (App Store or TestFlight), the language, the time zone and a random identifier with no link to your identity.
What is never sent: your step count, your distance, your energy burned, your first name, your gender, your location. No profile in your name, no screen recording, no tracking of your taps. Your IP address is not used to locate you, and PostHog does not keep it.
To turn it all off: Profile, Advanced settings, “Anonymous usage data”. Nothing is sent after that, not even the app opening.
05Your “Improve Mora” message
If you write to us from the Profile, your text (1,000 characters at most) and the topics you tick go to PostHog, without your name or address. What you write yourself may identify you: only put in what you are happy to tell us. Since this message is anonymous, we cannot reply to it; for a reply, write to contact@moramora.app. This row only appears when usage data is turned on.
06Tracking and advertising
Mora does not track you, shows no advertising, and neither sells nor shares your data with anyone. That is why the app does not ask for tracking permission.
07Transfers outside the European Union
RevenueCat processes your purchase history in the United States, under the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. Apple processes your purchases and your iCloud under its own privacy policy.
08How long
- On your iPhone: until you delete the app.
- In your iCloud: your goals stay there after you delete the app, so you get them back if you reinstall it. They contain only target step counts.
- At PostHog: one year, after which the statistics are deleted.
- At RevenueCat: for the length of your subscription, then for as long as our accounting obligations require.
09Your rights
You can ask to access your data, correct it, erase it, port it, restrict its processing, and object to it. Since almost everything stays on your iPhone, deleting the app erases everything stored there. Usage statistics are tied to no name: we cannot find them for you, but you can stop sending them at any time. To exercise a right: contact@moramora.app. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
10Minors
Mora is meant for adults and is not designed for children under 15.
