In short
- Your steps and distance stay on your iPhone. Neither we nor anyone else receives them.
- Mora has no account, no ads, no tracking, and never asks for your location.
- A few usage signals, with no name or email address, help us improve the app. You can turn them off at any time.
Who runs Mora
Mora is published by Nidouyé, a French company (SASU, share capital €1,000, RCS Paris 981 421 936).

What stays on your iPhone
- Your steps and distance. Mora reads them from the Health app and from your iPhone's motion sensor, with your permission. It only reads: it writes nothing to Health. This data is never sent, not to us, not to an analytics tool, not to an advertiser. It is never used for advertising or sold.
- Your answers to the welcome screens. Your first name, gender, age range and other answers help Mora write to you properly. They never leave your iPhone.
- Your streak, calendar, reminders and theme. All of it is computed and kept on your iPhone. Reminders are scheduled by your iPhone itself, with no server involved.
If you delete Mora, this data is deleted with it. Your steps remain in the Health app, which is yours.
What goes to your iCloud
One thing only: the list of your goals and the date you chose each one (for example "5,000 steps from October 3"). It is stored in your own iCloud so a new iPhone can restore your streaks. It holds no count of steps walked, and we have no access to it.
What leaves your iPhone, and where it goes
Usage signals, to PostHog
To understand where the app helps and where it gets in the way, Mora sends a few signals to PostHog, an analytics tool whose servers are in Europe (Frankfurt, Germany). These signals carry a randomly generated identifier that is not linked to your name, your email address or your Apple ID, and is not shared with any other tool.
What these signals say:
- that the app was installed, updated, opened or closed;
- your iPhone model, the iOS version and the Mora version, your language and time zone, and whether the app comes from the App Store or TestFlight;
- which welcome screens you went through, and whether you allowed or declined each permission;
- your answer to "How did you hear about us?", picked from a list;
- the tone you chose, reminders turned on or off and their time, widgets installed, a reminder opened;
- that an offer screen was seen, that a purchase was started or completed;
- that the day's goal was reached, as a simple "yes". Never a step count, never a distance, never the goal itself.
Like any server, PostHog sees your IP address when the signal arrives. We ask it not to keep it.
Your message, if you write us one
The "Improve Mora" page lets you tick topics and write us a few words. That message travels the same way, with the same random identifier, only if you send it. It contains whatever you write: avoid including your name, a health detail or anything you would rather not share.
Your subscription, with Apple and RevenueCat
Payment goes through Apple. We never see your card or your identity. To know whether your subscription is active, and to restore it after a reinstall, Mora relies on RevenueCat, which receives your purchase history in Mora with a random identifier. Like any online service, RevenueCat also sees your IP address and some technical information about your device. RevenueCat is a US company: this data may be processed in the United States, under the safeguards required by European law.
Turning analytics off
In Mora, open Profile, then Advanced settings, and turn off "Anonymous usage data". No signal is sent to PostHog anymore, not even app opens. The app works the same.
What Mora does not do
- No ads, no advertising identifier, no tracking across apps.
- No selling of data, no targeted advertising.
- No location.
- No account to create, no email address requested.
Backups and children
If you turned on iCloud Backup for your iPhone, iOS stores Mora's data in it, including your step log. It is your Apple backup, in your account: we have no access to it.
Mora is not specifically aimed at children.
Our legal grounds
- Reading your steps: your consent, given in Apple's permission sheet, which you can withdraw in the Health app.
- Managing your subscription: performance of the contract you enter into when subscribing.
- Usage signals: our legitimate interest in improving the app, with a switch to opt out.
How long
Usage signals are kept for as long as it takes to understand how the app is used, then deleted. Purchase history is kept while the subscription exists, then for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
European law gives you the right to access, correct, erase, object to, restrict the use of and receive a copy of your data. Write to us at privacy@nidouye.fr.
One honest caveat: because Mora has no account and usage signals carry neither your name nor your email address, we cannot look up yours from your name. The surest way to opt out is the switch described above.
If you believe your rights are not respected, you can contact your data protection authority. In France, that is the CNIL, at cnil.fr.
